Analysing handicap performance
You can analyse the data in the HAL's Race Results database to see the performance
of each boat, or each type of boat, with HAL's Performance
Analyser.
HAL's Performance Analyser looks at each race and derives overall performance
statistics, both boat-by-boat and for each type of boat.
The analysis method is very similar to that recommended by the RYA in Publication
YR2 for the Portsmouth Yardstick scheme, but can be applied to any type of handicap.
Use HAL's Performance Analyser to adjust your club handicap scheme and, in the
case of Portsmouth Yardstick races, to calculate the numbers you need for the annual
return.
