How do I vary a boat's handicap?

Handicaps can be varied in the Boat Register. If you click the last handicap entry for the boat in question, a new form will appear.
Use the Add a new handicap to start on a particular date button to insert another handicap in the list. Alter the value in the Hcap column to the desired handicap. The default date from which the new handicap is valid is set to the date you perform the operation. To alter the date, click in the Valid from column to set the precise date and time you wish the handicap to start. But note the way this depends on the series as set out below. Click OK.
Note: the handicap actually used for a boat in a particular race depends on how the series is set up. In the race schedule you will find a set of switches on the right-hand side. One of these is labelled Handicap can vary. If this switch is set, the handicap used in a particular race is that valid at the start of the race. If this switch is not set, the handicap used is that valid at the start of the first race in the series.
