HAL's Race Results - Scoring Made Easy

HAL Bug 81101 - Race officer can only select boat by typing its number, not be selecting from the list of entries

Versions of HAL's Race Results that exhibit the bug: All versions up to and including 8.12 when running under Microsoft Access 2007.
Symptoms. When a race officer is entering results, he should be able to select the next boat by entering its sail number, or bow number, or by clicking it in the list of boats displayed on screen. The last of these methods, selecting directly from the list, gives an error message and does not work.
How to reproduce the symptoms. Using HAL's Race Results on a computer running Microsoft Access 2007 (part of Microsoft Office 2007) log in as a race officer. Select one or more races and start to enter results. If you pick a boat directly from the list by clicking it the following error message appears: "Error choosing from list of sail numbers .. Err 94 -".
Work-around. Always pick the next boat by entering its sail number, or bow number. Never pick it directly from the list.
Alternatively, if you do not need Access 2007 for anything other than HAL's Race Results, remove it. To run HAL's Race Results, install Access 2000 Runtime from this web site.
Resolution. The problem has been resolved in version 8.13.
