HAL Bug 71102 - Small Catamaran Scheme handicaps
|
|
Versions of HAL's Race Results that exhibit the bug: 7.11 and 7.12 |
|
Symptoms. Until 2006 the
Small Catamaran Scheme of handicapping used numbers with two decimal places.
This has been modified to three decimal places in 2007, but the first two versions
of HAL's Race Results for 2007 failed to pick up the change. The result is
that calculations are done with three places of precision if you enter the handicap
to that level in the Boat Register, but all displayed handicaps are to two places. |
|
How to reproduce the symptoms. Use the Boat Register to record a handicap
in a Small Cat class to three decimal places. The Boat Register reverts to
two places as soon as you have finished inputting. All reports and web pages show
two places, although the calculations are done to three. |
|
Work-around. You can input three decimal places of handicap and the
calculations will be done to that accuracy, but you will have to amend reports by
hand to show the proper handicap. |
|
Resolution. Version 7.13 corrects the problem. |
