This screen is the first thing to appear when you start HAL's Race Results.

You use it to log into the system as either a race officer, or as an administrator.

Race Officer

This is the part of the system that most people use. It allows you to input race results and to prepare reports from them, such as result sheets to pin on a notice board.

When you click on the Race Officer button you are taken to the Race Officer's Switchboard that guides you through the procedure for entering new results.

Administrator

This is for those people that need to administer the system. It allows them to set up the list of boats, put the boats into racing classes and schedule races. This is also where you go to alter handicaps and make web pages.

It is advisable to protect this part of the system with a password, since allowing unauthorised people to meddle with boat lists and handicaps can lead to chaos. The first time you click on the Sailing Administrator button it will ask you to set a password. Then it will take you to the Administrator's Switchboard.
