On the first morning

Your sailing regatta is about to start and now is the last opportunity to iron out any mistakes without too much embarrassment.
  • Double-check the entry list and make copies for the race team (Race officer / Choose races / Entry list).
  • Make round sheets (Race officer / Choose races / Round sheets) for the race team to tick off boats in the starting area and to use to keep track of progress during the race.
  • Make a print out of the flag and sound signals (Race Officer /Choose Races / Start Sequence) they will be using at the start.
  • Double-check the arrangements for getting the results ashore and publishing them.
    • Tip. The race officer may need an extra person to take care of this. It tends to happen exactly when the team afloat is busy getting the next race underway.
  • If using a mobile phone, make sure its battery is charged and that it has plenty of call time available.
