As entries come in
As entries arrive you can populate the Boat Register.
- It is important to get the full names, first and last, of each competitor and crew.
It is embarrassing if nobody knows the first name of a prize-winner.
- If this is a handicap event, make sure that you get the right type for each boat
and enter the correct handicap. If you are using Portsmouth Yardstick numbers, most
types of boat can be selected from the PY 2008 list.
- If you want HAL's Club Results Service to send emails to
competitors giving their results, make sure you fill in the
email field in the Boat Register. You can send emails to
more than one person per boat by separating the addresses
with semi-colons.
- If you are using bow numbers, enter these as you go. Use the same number for things
like dinghy parking arrangements and social tickets.
- Do you need to set up any selection flags? For instance you might want to flag boats with
helms under the age of 18, or lady helms.
- If accepting entries before people begin to arrive for the event, it is useful to
make a web page of the entry list (Sailing
Administrator / Class Register / Print boats in class) and paste it on your web
site. Seeing boats already entered
encourages other people to enter.
