| HAL's Race Results Bulletin 3 of 2009 |
| I see that a large number of people have downloaded HAL Mk.2 and seem
to like it. I have been working hard to add new features and the next version
(9.12) is now ready to download. |
The new features are:
- Race officers can output series results as well as single-race results.
Previously series results could only be produced by an administrator
from the Review by Series screen.
- Race officers can produce round sheets, designed to be used by the
race-management team on the water. This is done from the Select
Races screen immediately after clicking Enter Results.
The output is in the form of an Excel workbook with one sheet
showing the sail numbers of all the boats to check off before the
start, and one sheet with columns to write places or times on each
round. Print the entire book before going on the water.
- Administrators can output a list of series winners from the
Review Series screen. This shows which boat has won each trophy.
- The Boat Register has been modified so that it reacts to the <del>
key as one would expect, i.e. by deleting the next character in the field,
not by asking whether you want to delete the whole boat.
- In the Race Schedule screen, when the start sequence or
the time limit is edited, there is the option to make the same change
to all the races in the series automatically.

| P.S., I always look forward to hearing your feedback on HAL. This
time I would particularly like to hear how useful you find the round
sheets and whether any further information should be added to them. |
